He stood there, hesitant, uninterested, indifferent. People walked by him, around him, up and down the halls, to and fro, but no one seemed to notice him. Standing still, Akaashi remained in place for quite some time, his legs refusing to carry him further. His eyes stared forward, uninterested in the information desk several meters from him. An 'It's alright,' could be heard from behind him, but it soon faded as Akaashi continued forward. He circled around the male, apologizing flatly before he continued on. It would hurt if he did.Īkaashi closed his eyes and sighed, swaying absentmindedly in his step, opening his eyes just in time to swiftly avoid colliding with someone. Blatantly, he thanked her, and continued on his way, passing by several rooms as he did so. Pointing a finger down the hall, a small assistant nurse directed Akaashi to a different desk, one where he would be able to find more information on the subject. He was wasting time, asking for something that he did not want in the least. Akaashi was unhappy with where he was, unhappy with what it was that he was doing. He didn't care, nor did he think he would care in the near future. But ultimately, they would urge him to carry out the task that had been pushed on him, and one way or another, he'd do it.Īsking around here and there, the male put little to no effort in finding out where he could go to sign up for what. Often times, however, Akaashi would disagree with his parents, unhappy with the suggestions they'd given him. Akaashi's parents were intent on having him intern in a hospital nearby, so that he could stockpile more things that would look good on his resume, for future purposes. It was a dreary place for him, a place he was not fond of, but a place he was obligated to visit. With Koutaro's arms wound tightly around him, Keiji pulled their blue blanket up to his chin, and after giving his boyfriend a kiss on the forehead, the two easily drifted back to sleep. It had been some time since Akaashi set foot into that hospital. And Keiji planned to savor that alone for as long as he could, especially if there was another life where he couldn't. Of course, Koutaro couldn't actually know if there were other realms where they lived other lives anymore than he could know for sure that he was going to live a long life.

I plan to live a long, long time with you."Ī kiss was placed atop Keiji's hair and a sense of relief flooded through him. "I don't know about all that," He said after a moment, "But even if there is some other life where I die and leave you here, it won't be this one. All Koutaro could do was hold onto Keiji a little tighter. The question seemed to hang in the air with an uneasy tension. He couldn't even bring himself to say it a second time, but they both knew what word was left unspoken. "Do you really think there's another life like that?" Keiji asked with his eyes scrunched shut, "A life where we fall in love and you." The larger man gently brushed his thumb over his boyfriend's cheek, clearing away any tears that had fallen. He moved his hand up and down Keiji's back in an attempt to calm him down, but it didn't seem to work at first.Ī few tears began to trickle down Keiji's face and land softly onto Koutaro's chest. He hadn't expected something like that to be the source of his lover's nightmares. and at the end, just before I woke up, you died."Ī slight gasp escaped Koutaro's lips. sick for all of it and got worse the whole time. "I wasn't finished yet," the black haired man said dryly, "You were. Maybe you just saw a glimpse of another life." Kotaro rested his chin on top of Keiji's head, "That doesn't sound like a nightmare to me. "It was strange," He admitted after a moment, "I met you for the first time and fell in love with you all over again, but it was all. Keiji opened his mouth to speak, but when the hazy memories came back to him, he found there was not much he was able to say. The wing-spiker only tightened his grip on the smaller man, "Is'fine," he tried to muffle a yawn, but was unsuccessful, "Wanna talk about it?" Instinctively, Keiji nuzzled against his boyfriend's bare chest, "Just a nightmare, Koutaro. "Wha'samatter, Keiji?" Bokuto Koutaro asked, still mostly asleep. It steadied him, but didn't quite take the fear away.Ī pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around the former setter and pulled him back down onto the bed.

He could feel his heart pounding, and squeezed his eyes shut before breathing in and out in an attempt to calm himself down.

A series of quick, shaky breaths escaped his lips as he quietly pulled his knees up to his chest. It was still dark outside when Akaashi Keiji lifted his head from his pillow, which had become wet from his sweating.
